The Contender Machine Works 2x72 Mach 4 belt grinder is built to be precise, rigid and robust.

Features:

• Fully machined 3/8 thick aluminum frames.

• 14x 3/8 Stainless Steel spacers and bolts for a rigid construction at its core.

• Comes standard with a 2 hp, 1725 RPM Leeson motor and KB 27D vfd with forward/reverse switch. (Power output is 2 hp on 220 single phase and 1.5 hp on 110 single phase power.) (VFD can be double sped for 3450 rpm)

• Direct drive 6 inch diameter rubber coated and crowned drive wheel. Offers a much longer life expectancy than aluminum drive wheels.

• Heavy 3/4 inch thick horizontal tilt stand. The grinder can be flipped from vertical to horizontal configuration in seconds. No extra tools are needed.

• Excellent balance and tight 3/4 inch solid Stainless Steel pivot shafts make for a smooth and effortless transition from vertical to horizontal.

• Features a fine tooth ratcheting tensioner with hardened stainless steel teeth. The tensioner arm is mounted on a heavy stainless steel pivot with bronze bushings for extended life.

• Simple and easy to access tracking. Features a 4 inch diameter crowned aluminum tracking wheel.

• Used standard 1.5 inch square tool arms.

• Designed to be as compact as possible when the platen is installed. There is no need to hang the tool arm out a long ways and sacrifice rigidity.

• Comes standard with Contenders exclusive, fully machined quick change tool arm. No need to own and store multiple tooling arms. This system is modular and cheap to add onto.

• Comes standard with a Contender Platen system. Allows for quickly changing platens. Can be converted to a rotary platen (optional) quickly. Features 2 inch diameter contact wheels mounted on Contenders Cam Arbors to allow for perfect tracking no matter the conditions. Pulleys have stainless steel spacers for excellent bearing life.

• The capacity to house up to three tool arms at once allowing for endless grinder set up configurations.

• Optional contact wheels mounted on quick change pull studs.

• Optional Contender 7 axis work rest. The most robust and adjustable work rest available.

• Almost entirely constructed from aluminum and stainless steel. This grinder is ready for wet grinding and all the abuse a knife shop produces.

• Fully cnc machined components. This ensures the best quality is maintained.

• Fastens to your bench via 4x 3/8 bolts. (not provided)

• Uses high quality adjustable handles for locking the tool arms and tilt positions.
