Grizzly 2x42 Attachments/Upgrades
These are attachments and upgrades for the Grizzly 2×42 belt grinder. These upgrades really help make the little Grizzly grinder more useful.
5x12 Work Rest - Features a 3/16 thick steel top, 5×12 inches in size. Requires either the Standard or Drop-Down arm to mount to the grinder.
Standard Work Rest Arm - A straight arm for mounting the Work Rest. This arm allows the Work Rest to be tilted both forward and backward. Only works in vertical configuration.
Drop Down Work Rest Arm - This arm lowers the Work Rest 1.5 inches to expose more of the platen. This works best if grinding with a jig. This arm allows the Work Rest to be tilted backward. Only works in vertical configuration.
Horizontal Work Rest Arm - This arm is for using the Work Rest with the grinder in a horizontal configuration.
Flat Platen - A 2×5.5-inch steel platen that is ¼ inch thick. This platen is much more robust than the stock platen that the Grizzly comes with. Require a set of Platen Brackets to mount to the grinder.
Platen Brackets - These brackets are used to mount either the Flat Platen or the Radius Platen to the Grizzly grinder. These brackets have adjustability to line the platen up with the belt. These brackets also allow grinding clearance on either side of the platen.
Radius Platen (case hardened) - These radius platens are case hardened for long life. They are 2×5 inches. These are used to mimic a large diameter contact wheel. They are perfect for making kitchen knives and doing hollow grinds. Require a set of Platen Brackets to mount to the grinder. The size is the diameter of wheel they represent. 10, 36, 48 and 72 inch platens available.
2×5 Carbide Platen Liner - The ultimate way to get long life out of your platen. These platen liners are extremely smooth and wear resistant. They come with 3M double stick tape for easy installation.
2x5 Ceramic Platen Liner - A 2×5-inch pieces of high-grade ceramic glass with a very high heat tolerance. These liners can be mounted to the Flat Platen and will last much longer. They can be mounted with something like JB Weld or 3M double stick tape (available as a ready to go solution).
Contact Wheel Mounting Arm - These arms allow a contact wheel to be mounted to the grinder. Any 2-inch-wide contact wheel with ½ inch ID bearings will fit. When using 42-inch belts an 8-inch diameter wheel is the largest that will fit the grinder. If running 48-inch belts, then a 10-inch diameter wheel will fit.
Small Wheel Attachment - This attachment is for using small wheels on the Grizzly grinder. This attachment works very well on the grinder and can be used in either vertical or horizontal configuration. It accepts standard outboard small wheels that have the 7/8 OD bearings.
Small Wheel Set of Two (1/2 and ¾ inch) - Two high quality rubber wheels that fit the Small Wheel Attachment. These two wheels work well together and allow for many grinding opportunities.
Sharpening Attachment - This attachment is basically a small work rest that can be set to any angle in relation to the platen. It was originally developed to sharpen knives on the Grizzly grinder, but it also works well for grinding small parts.
2×10 Rubber Contact Wheel - A high quality, 70A rubber contact wheel that fits the Grizzly grinder when ran with 48-inch belts.
